Sherwin Williams Paint Factory
with the Consumers Beverage project combined into one new building flat
I needed a building that would hide my upper level track in this area, so I set out to build this flat.
Project used Ameritowne building panels combined into one large factory which I used to hide my track running up to my 3rd level of the layout.
I used around 11-13 Ameritowne panels
Here you can see how the 3rd level track runs behind the flat
I made the flat removable in case of a derailment behind it. I left two window panes out of the lower sashes which are circled in yellow. These are thumb holds
to allow easy pick up of the flat during removal.

I added a switch on the roof top corner to turn off the Miller Eng. sign.
I also added wiring plugs for quick removal of the flat from the layout.
and here is a photo of the back of the flat. I put aluminum
foil on the back and sprayed it flat black for two reasons.
1) to stop any stray light from bouncing off the background when running night
time scenes
2) If I am running a video train around the layout, when running behind the
buildings it will be dark like a tunnel.
I also painted the sky blue wall behind the buildings flat black also for the same reason.
Another thing I did was have to redo the loading dock roof from the original kit build since it had a sign up on a tar paper roof.
I replaced it with corrugated metal roofing instead, which was all hand pressed from heavy aluminum.
