Our roundhouse kit was inspired by my good friend Dennis Brennan who I encouraged years ago to come out with a

roundhouse kit. Dennis agreed to produce a limited run craftsman kit that was made from hydrocal castings. It was a beautiful kit as seen below

The modeler had to have some experience building this type of kit or you might find yourself in over your head. My goal in designing our new roundhouse kit

was to make assembly and painting quick and easy. Unlike a craftsman kit where you are given strip pieces of wood that you need to cut to make window frames etc.

Drawing Below gives measurements with 7 stall with 3 Big Boy extension roundhouse.  

The 11" setback from the pit edge is to allow stall tracks to be straight in each stall.

 If tight on space, roundhouse could be moved closer to pit but rear end of tracks would need to be curved in back of roundhouse

 we would not route out the stall rails or inspection pits if you plan to curve the rails inside the roundhouse but would supply just a plain base.

Our kit we have done the work for you by cutting the parts on our laser that have been drawn up in CAD software so that the measuring and cutting is already done for you.

An example of simplicity is our main side wall of the roundhouse is cut out of two layers. The entire 30" side wall is one piece with the window and doors cutout and the brick detail engraved 

into it on the inside and outside of the wall and the concrete post and beam structure is a separate panel ( like a double hung window grill ) that once is painted can be glued to the face of the finished brick

thus no need to spend a lot of time trying to paint it and having to cut in around windows etc. and not get paint on your finished brickwork.

Our roundhouse kits are made to be easily be painted and assembled and give you a finished building that resembles a craftsman kit

that can be quickly built by the average modeler. Our kits are inclusive. The prices are for 3, 5 or 7 stalls. We do not charge separate pricing for  big boy stall extensions or brick  detail on the inside of the inner walls

or the smoke jacks & roof vents , the bases with the rail grooves, rails and inspection pits etc. are all included in the pricing. The 3 stall roundhouse can either have one center big boy stall or not if you don't need it or have the room for one.

The 5 stall & 7 stall roundhouses also include up to 3 and 5 big boy stalls in the center between the two outer standard length stalls.  Our bases for the 5 & 7 stall roundhouses will come in few sections, but have hidden screw pockets to fasten the base to your layout

and the seams will look like the concrete expansion joints in the rest of the base.

Pictures below are of a 3 stall kit I assembled for our demo unit for shows. I painted it with 5 colors spray paint and a $4 little tub of drywall compound for the mortar lines of the brick.

Build to paint and assemble took on and off over two weeks while working on other projects in our shop.
